Mestre Gulliver is a certified Master artist and teacher. Certified by Norival Moreira de Oliveira; Grande Master No, the internationally renowned head of Grupo Capoeira Angola Palmares.

Under the tutelage of Mestre No, Mestre Gulliver has taught children and adults in the United States and worldwide for the past eighteen years. He frequently gives workshops on the history, culture, and practices of Capoeira Angola.

Mestre Gulliver is an internationally recognized performance artist and has represented Capoeira Angola Palmares in several events, including the Nike Playoff Festival in New York City, New York's Guggenheim Museum, the Festival of Sacred Music in Greece, the Capoeira Angola Palmares International Forum in London, and most recently on a national tour with BahiaTursa, the official tourism Agency of Bahia, Brasil.

Paulo Aires,"Mestre Gulliver", was born in Rio Grande do Sul. He is an accomplished Artist of Capoeira who has been training in the art for over thirty years. He has been invited to Capoeira events and performances throughout the U.S. and Brazil. He is currently teaching the art of Capoeira Angola in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. He has been teaching Capoeira to adults and children for the past eighteen years and is certified master of the art of Capoeira Angola under Grand Master No, of Grupo Capoeira Angola Palmares. He moved to New York in 2001 in order to promote and make accessible the teachings and traditions of the art of Capoeira Angola. Today, Mestre Gulliver promotes the art by working with cultural, community, and social centers.
